The Safety Boot
The Safety Boot is a precautionary measure added to the Alligator Meter Jumper.
Before the Safety Boot when one end of the Jumper is clamped into the meter box , that entire jumper becomes HOT!. This includes the exposed Alligator Clamp on the opposite end. With the safety Boot, This cannot occur. The non metallic elastic stretch twine holds the boot firmly over the clamp until the technician pulls it off.
The Safety Boot allows the technician in the field to use both hands when working around a power source.The Safety Boot is made from the same type and thickness of the original insulator and is held on by 100% non metallic fasteners.

The Red, Black and Blue color code was devised by field technicians for maximum
color contrast even when wearing a tinted flash shield.
